The US brand Meow Meow Tweet offers natural and botanical personal care products, ranging from handmade soaps and deodorants to insect repellents and complete facial regiments. Founded in Brooklyn in 2009 by Jeff Kurosaki (they/them) and Tara Pelletier (she/they), the pair who met in art school possess an innate openness and curiosity that led them to wonder why a gift of handmade soap left their skin feeling so much better than a commercial bar. Together, they set out to learn everything they could about making soap at home. The result was a creamy, skin-nourishing formula that received accolades from family & friends. They went on to found their all natural vegan apothecary Meow Meow Tweet, named after their two beloved cats and Jeff’s bird.

Meow Meow Tweet is committed to creating pure, all natural, plant and mineral-based formulas. Drawing on Tara’s background as a chef and herbalist, all goods are developed as if they were modern culinary dishes. All of the packaging features whimsical illustrations by Jeff. The team relocated to Northern California in the Summer of 2021. Surrounded by a new city and old growth forests, they continue to find inspiration to infuse into their brand. All of their products are now handmade in small batches in their California microfactory, enabling them to provide the freshest, highest quality products and the same time jobs’ and skills’ training for the community. They value each product that is delivered to a real person, you.
