• Kukicha, or twig tea, is made of the twigs/stalks of sencha or gyokuro and tea leaves.
• The twigs give the tea a unique grassy and fresh sweetness.
• You can almost smell some grassy breeze from a meadow.
• This tea is suitable to drink in summer and in ice and has relatively lower caffeine.
• Higher grade of kukicha is made of the twigs of gyokuro and is called Karigane. On top of the sweetness of kukicha, it has a bit of salty and umami flavour from the gyokuro.

In CHAFADO, we only use tea that is produced with methods we endorsed. We do not add any artificial flavorings to make tea more floral and fruitier, whereas we source natural tea that is produced by traditional blending and fermentation methods and tea trees that have natural fragrance.

We also adapt plant fibre tea bags, which is biodegradable and better to your health compared with plastic tea bags, which would release plastic beads to the food chain and not degrade in thousands of years.
