Organic Handloom’s story begins in Mashiko, a pottery town in Tochigi Prefecture known for its centuries-old tradition of artistry and harmony with nature. The founder Baba Hiroshi, hand-wrote the brand’s iconic logo with a fountain pen, its imperfect contours symbolizing the authenticity, character, and warm spirit unique to handmade creations. Starting with production of leather goods, organic cotton clothing and everyday utensils, each piece echoed the founder’s passion for this combination between tradition and modern life—an ethos that lives on even after Baba’s passing. As the brand grew, it journeyed from Mashiko to Shizuoka, a place renowned for shoemaking, weaving together two towns rich in heritage and creativity as its new bases.
